Terrorism became personal for Mike Walton on his last mission - a mission that resulted in triumph...and devastating tragedy. Now the stakes have been raised again.
Mike and his wife Lisa - both covert assets of the International Market Stabilization Institute, a privately funded organization operating outside official channels to protect North America's financial interests - are sent to Russia after an attempt on their superior officer's life. It is a mission fraught with peril and one that becomes exponentially more dangerous when their covers are blown within hours of setting foot in Moscow. Now, they are being hunted down by the Sheik, the terrorist mastermind behind the kidnapping of Mike's father, Ray Powell, and to the treachery that turned Mike and Lisa's lives upside down.
To make matters worse, there are clues that Biopreparat - the former Soviet Union biological warfare agency - has been resurrected and is about to launch a strike against the United States. This forces Mike and Lisa to make the most difficult choice of all. With Ray Powell's life hanging in the balance, and the slightest mistake potentially igniting the next World War, nothing is what it seems.
And the line between friend and foe is blurring.
A stunning experience by one of the hottest voices in thriller fiction, A Red Dotted Line takes listeners on an unforgettable ride.
A Red Dotted Line A Mike Walton Thriller (Audible Audio Edition) Simon Gervais Adam Jeffrey Hanin The Story Plant Books
This guy is the real deal...a been there, done that sort of man. Most authors have to get help from experts in this type of espionage thriller...but Simon has lived these experiences and writes from his first hand knowledge. From the first page he draws you in to this story. In only his second full-length book, he is becoming a master of this genre. He is able to tell 2 or 3 stories at the same time and then wrap them all together, like Tom Clancy showed the world how to do.I do most of my reading while working out on an elliptical machine for 90 minutes a day. Some books seem to drag on and make the time go so slowly, but others make the hour and a half zip by. This book is one of those which make the time fly by. The action is so fast paced but yet is quite readable without too much technical depth that some authors feel the need to share.
Another great thing about him is that he answers all email and facebook comments and questions. If you want to know something he'll tell you. I sure hope that I can meet him for coffee some day, because I have some questions that you can't put in writing!
I do recommend that you read his first book before you read this one. You will have a much better understanding of the characters and their relationships.

A Red Dotted Line A Mike Walton Thriller (Audible Audio Edition) Simon Gervais Adam Jeffrey Hanin The Story Plant Books Reviews
What an awesome book!! This is the 3rd book in the Mike Walton series and it is GREAT!
Simon Gervais has another 5 star winner! The attention to detail and character development is wonderful.
In my opinion, Simon Gervais, is on par with Lee Childs and the late Vince Flynn.
Each book is better than the one before and I thought the first book was amazing.
Looking forward to the next book.
I received my copy of A Red Dotted Line on Saturday and finished reading it Sunday night. This was my first Simon Gervais novel, but it will not be my last. Mike Walton is a well developed protagonist who gets the job done, no matter what it takes. . He is strong, likable and multidimensional - in other words, he is a terrific character. If you love political thrillers and follow Dewey Andreas, Jack Reacher, Mitch Rapp, and others, add Mike Walton. You will not be disappointed. This book is a keeper. Well done, Simon Gervais!
Another winner from Simon Gervais. His Mike Walton character and family are written so well it's like you have your own personal heroes saving the world. The action is non-stop, with many, many, twists and turns that leave you breathless. You come to care so much for these characters and their mission(s) that it's hard to put down to see how they fare. And, as a good written novel should be, all is not what it seems. This 2nd novel in the Mike Walton series is every bit as good as the 1st. Can't wait to see where these characters (and Gervais) lead us on their next mission.
I really enjoyed these books. I bought and read the 3 book series over a couple of days. I liked the characters and the writing style. The story was very good. I'm a fan of this style of book- I love Vince Flynn, JT Robb, LT Ryan, Brad Taylor, Brad Thor, Marc Cameron, Mark Greaney, among others- and Simon is now added to the list. As others have mentioned he's been there, done that, and I enjoy his commentary at the end of the books explaining why his characters did what they did. I'm looking forward to the next one. It's also fun that you can visit with him on Facebook and he'll personally respond.
Once again Mr. Gervais knocks it out of the park! As great as his debut novel and the e-novella follow up were, this is in almost every way an improvement. It kicks off at a break neck pace and doesn't slow down. Even with the furious pace at which the story unfolds, there's still time for character development not only with the hero, Mike Walton, but also with quite a few of the behind the scenes players. If you enjoy the works of the late Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Ben Coes, or Mark Greaney, you should give Simon Gervais a shot. He's the real deal. He's truly been there and done that and his writing reflects this. Truly some of the best action sequences I've read in recent years paired with characters who are relatable and down to earth, not written as some super human operative. I think that's what I love most about his characters. Enjoy!
I have probably said this in a previous SG book review somewhere, but this author is clearly the real deal. Specifically in A Red Dotted Line, though, the writing tells me that he is a non-linear, tactical thinker who sees the whole picture like a good field commander. What makes this story sing is the fact that SG doesn't reveal too much of that full picture to the reader at any given point, sticking to his character view points and bringing it to us in twists and surprises. This great writing, fueled by experience, produces some of the best action on today's exceedingly crowded thriller shelves.
I was lucky enough to have received an ARC from the author and enjoy this great read a little early. If you know Mike Walton from the Thin Black Line then you know about his past and his families tragedies. I was on the edge of my seat from the very first chapter with this one. The beginning scenes are nothing short of awesome and the build up to the final pages left me wanting nothing more. I normally don't post much in the realm of spoilers so if that is what you are looking for here, you are not going to get it from me. I literally was left not wanting more from this book, Mike and Lisa, Charles Mapother and the rest of the characters and been created thoroughly and thoughtfully, Simon has very detailed characters with a lot of background and history to leave you with the knowledge and understanding of their personal and emotional battles they face. There is a pretty steady pace that ramps up from time to time but was to me, never in a lull. That is one huge thing in a book that i look for and Simon Gervais crushed this one. If you haven't read The Thin Black Line, pick it up too. Mike and Lisa Walton are an awesome couple and are truly worth diving into.
